Pushing Out of the Blocks

In the video clip below Latif Thomas of Complete Track and Field takes you through a video analysis of an athlete working on her starts. This particular athlete is  stepping out of the blocks as opposed to  Coach Thomas’ preferred technique of pushing out of the blocks.

Coach Thomas uses  the video to go frame by frame and show you the mistakes that the athlete is making that will end up causing her to step out of the block rather than push out. Coach Thomas  draws lines and angles on the video to show you exactly what is wrong and more importantly how to correct the mistakes so that you can get your athletes pushing out of the block and attacking the ground aggressively.

This is great clip to help you analyze video with your sprinters.
